Comprehensive Eye Exams in Sydney’s inner-city suburbs

When Should You Get an Eye Test?

Frequently Asked Questions – Eye Exams

How long does a comprehensive eye exam take?

Our standard comprehensive exam takes up to 60 minutes, giving us time to assess your vision and eye health thoroughly.

Do I need a referral to see an optometrist?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us anytime via our online system or by phone.

Will Medicare cover my eye test?

Yes. Comprehensive eye tests are usually bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders. Any 3D imaging, procedures, and specific tests incur private fees since Medicare rebates have not kept up with the costs needed to sustain our eyecare clinic. Once we understand your needs, we can advise you of these costs on the day of your exam.

How often should I get an eye exam?

Generally, every two years, or annually if you have risk factors such as diabetes or a family history of eye disease.

Can you test for glaucoma and macular degeneration?

Absolutely. We use OCT scanning and eye pressure testing to screen for glaucoma, macular changes, and other retinal conditions.
